The Four Generation Picture

What a wonderful opportunity I had to go to Mexico and visit my grandma. She is so special to me. I have countless beautiful memories of her when I was very little. She used to spoil us a lot. She is a very generous person and a hard working woman. I was afraid I wasn't going to have to opportunity to see her again. She had a rough year. But I saw her and I am so grateful for it.
There is also my dear mom, oh my lovely mom. She and I are very good friends. I was the baby at home and we she spent a lot of time with me. We were always together. She listened to my needs and wants and she remained close to me even now as I get older. I miss her a lot and I can't wait to see her again.

Trip to Mexico

Here is Nalani with (most of) her cousins down in Mexico! Well, Ceci my oldest neice wasn't there (she's too 'cool' to hang out with family these days because she's away at 'school'), but she still got to meet Nalani afterwards. We went on a trip to my sister Ady's vacation house in a small town named Ixtapan de la Sal. It's well known for it hot springs. Nalani loved it. She had lots of fun with her cousins. Paola, especially went crazy about her. She is the one holding her.

Eigth months old

She used to play for along time by the window and listen to music while I worked. But I took several breaks to play with her to sing to her and dance together. She loved my breaks! Of course.

Grandma and Grandpa came from Canada

Grandma and Grandpa came to visit Nalani right after Christmas. It was very nice to have them here. They brought lots of cute presents for Nalani and for us as well. Thank you again!
She truly got spoiled by them (but in a good way...!)

We had a lot of fun and Nalani was very nice to them. Well, I think. She wasn't shy towards them at all, not even for a minute. I hope she does that well next month when we come and visit them in Calgary.

Christmas!!!

It was very special to have Nalani with us during Christmas. She brought so much happiness and excitement during that season. She got a few presents and Daddy got her a very nice dress! YES!! He picked it out; he was so sweet. He did a good job! It was actually a very cute dress. Good job Hone!
It was a very busy month for us . We had several get-togethers but we had fun.

Seven Months old

Yeah, that's right! Nalani loves mommy and mommy is all crazy about her.
This was back when she used to let me have fun by putting hairbands on her head. Now, that's an impossible mission!

Six months old

We got studio pictures taken at Sears. We had so much fun during the session. Nalani behaved so well. The girl said Nalani was the best behaved baby she has ever photographed. Um, now I wonder if she says that to every mom... Oh well, we got our pictures and I am so glad we did because time never comes back and she just looked different back then. Proof of that is that she didn't have any teeth back then and we won't get to see her baby gums ever again!

Here is Nalani poking her friend's eyes. Ouch Nalani!! That hurts!! ooh, she was also trying to bite his ears!! Poor baby. Since that day he never came back. Just joking

Five months old

Nalani always liked sitting up straight since she was very little. She enjoy watching the world around her from that position. She is a very happy baby. At that age she used to laugh with people a lot, specially at the cashiers. I guess she found them extremely funny. People will just fall in love with her. She amazes me in so many ways. David says: She is extroverted like her mother!

Four months old on her nice outfit

This was actually a present from Aunty Amanda. She sent it from Australia which we thought it was very thoughful of her. We absolutely loved it. She looked so cute on it. Those were her very first pair of jeans and her shirt was sooooo cute. Thanks Amanda again for the present!!

Trip to Miami

We took my parents to Miami and on the way there we stop at Welington close to West Palm Beach. It was nice to visit those places but it was a little bit hard on Nalani. Poor baby, she was verily three months old. Yeah, I know, we were not very prudent but over all, we did have lost of fun and we eat delicious Cuban food.

Nalani's Blessing

Oh what a special day! I can't describe the joy I felt when Nalani was blessed by her father. My parents were here for the blessing. In fact, that was the main reason my Dad came to Florida and it was truly a very special day.
My mom made Nalani's gown. I thought it was very nice of her. She embroidered the little hat and her shoes! I really appreciated her making Nalani's gown. Oh my dear mom, she was so sweet. Thank you so much mommy!
We were sorry that grandma and grandpa from Canada couldn't be here but we understood the reason. After all we actually got to see them after Christmas and I think they enjoy Nalani better.

Three months old

Yeah I know, it is kind of an ugly toy for a little princess but according to Daddy she had to have it. It is Tampa Bay's Hockey team mascot, the Lightning Bug. Daddy wanted to get her a Calgary Flames mascot, Harvey the Hound, but she just didn't warm up to a big dog with a red tongue. Well, at least she didn't get scared!

Her fist time swimming

Abuelito Alex also came to meet Nalani, he bathed her as he has done it with all of his grandchildren and we took her for her very fist trip to the swimming pool!! She did great! She became an official Floridian right there, ehhhhh!!
Abue Alex tambien vino a conocer a Nalani.
Nalani's aunt, Ady, came all the way from Mexico to see her! Nalani had a lot of fun getting to know Ady. Plus Ady, Caro, Nalani and Abuelita Luz went shopping. A lot. It should come as no surprise that most econimic analysts believe that the downturn in the American economy would have come a lot sooner, but for the stimulus that this shopping provided!

Caro says: Ohh come on!! David considers buying two blouses to be "a lot of shopping".
David replies: Especially when it's two blouses per person in the family!
After a short week, Ady had to go home. We hope that she come again soon!

Aunty Ady came to visit us

My lovely sister Ady came to visit us. It was very nice having her here. She went nuts with Nalani. I guess this was a very special event for her. She actually got to hold me like that when I was a baby.

Querida Hermana, gracias por venir. Disfrutamos mucho tu visita. Gracias por consentir a mi beba mientras estuviste aqui. Me imagino que fue algo bien especial cargar a mi beba pues tu me cargaste a mi cuando yo fui bebe. Que cosas no?

Two Months Old

We took Abuelita Luz to Sawgrass Lake Park for a walk. As you can tell she wasn't very happy. Oh well, I got to walk a little bit. Unfortunately, we didn't get to see any alligators that day.

One Month Old

Here is my pretty little angel. She was barely one month old! She used to sleep very nicely during the day and be super hungry at night. I am sure you moms know what those days are like, eh?

Nalani at the Hospital (Zero Months Old)

Here is a picture of Nalani when she was a few days old, right before we left the hospital. When we left the hospital, she only weighed 5 lbs! She has grown much bigger since then. Her grandmother from Mexico came to help Carolina. It is a tradition in Mexico that the mother of the new mother assists for the first 40 days. Lucky for us, we got almost three months (90 days!). While Abuelita Luz was here, she spoiled Nalani and Carolina horribly!!

Here is another picture at the hospital. I thought it was very cute. She looks like a little bear with daddy bear.

Introducing a New Blog (and Mother's Day)

Hello Family. This is our new blog and we want to say hi. We hope that you are all doing well. Yesterday was Mother's Day. Nalani was very nice and gave her mother a pretty card!! David also gave me some chocolate, a card and some body lotion.

After church, we went over to our friends', the Battles, house for a Mother's Day barbecue. It was a lot of fun.
